This is a tale about a beautiful English Puppy Named Louis.
He is 2 years old. When he was a year old he went into Agility Classes at Excel Training Center in Bethel Park, PA.
He was a star! He learned quickly and soon was able to do all the tricks in the Agility Course, well mostly all except he could see no reason for the hurdles at all.
But he jumped them anyway cause it was the only way to get to the tunnels that were his favorite.
Everything was good. His life with his Mom and sister Angus was full and loving.He loved toys of all kinds,and Kids were his favorite thing in the world next to treats of course!
One day last month his mom noticed a little bump on his head. She thought a first that his method of going outside by banging his head on the screen door was to blame. But it kept getting larger. So off to the vets they went to see what was causing his bump.
Well,the vet said she never saw anything like it, it was like his skull was growing!
So off he went to Ohio State University with his mom and grandad to see the experts. they looked and x-rayed and CT scanned him and found that the lump in fact was his skull, and that under it there was a massive tumor growing above his brain.
The doctors there said it was probably Cancer and that he would not have much hope of living a long life. They gave him a year at most and an operation would most likely only gain 2 more years at best the type of tumor had over a 70% chance of re-occurring.
We cry for our Little Louie and will make sure his time left here on earth will be full of the things that dogs like to do, and we will love him until the end.
He truly is our Super Dog!
My wishes are to make a video children can understand and take the video with this message to the children also maybe give the children a little stuffed dog with Louis’s picture.Children relate to animals in ways that we do not understand, but I think this would bring comfort to a child with cancer knowing that anyone can get this terrible disease and that there is hope in every day.
I guess also this would help us to know Louis lived and died and it was worthwhile for us to have him for such a short time.
What we are asking from our friends out here is any ideas of how we can make this happen for him. Get him into visit kids with cancer via video, who are in hospitals and could use a boost of Louie's vitality as he shows no symptoms and is unaware of his condition. He is perfectly normal and and acts like nothing is wrong at all. We would love to see him live out his life doing something for others. It would be a wonderful legacy for an exceptional dog. -- The animal kingdom; We patronize them for their incompleteness, for their tragic fate of having taken form sofar below ourselves. And therein we err, and greatly err. For the animal shall not be measured by man. In a world older and more complete than ours they move finished and complete, gifted with extensions of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear.
